Solar battery storage

Stop selling cheap and buying back dear

Under Net Billing, exported solar earns wholesale rates while evening imports cost full retail. A correctly sized battery captures that gap — storing your surplus at midday and spending it after dark.

The Net Billing business case

Why batteries became the default in 2026

Since January 2026, every new PV system in Cyprus connects under Net Billing: surplus you export earns roughly €0.08–0.10 per kWh, while the power you import in the evening costs around €0.25. That spread is where a battery earns its keep — every stored kilowatt-hour is worth the full retail rate you avoid paying EAC.

Current pricing runs €800–1,000 per kWh of storage installed, so a typical 10kWh home system totals €8,000–10,000. Most Cyprus homes need 10–14 kWh to run from sunset to sunrise on stored solar, and self-consumption savings typically return the investment in 6–8 years — before any subsidy.

State support is moving the same direction: with the €1,500 PV grant closed, a national home battery subsidy programme was announced for 2026. We track the schemes and confirm the live amounts and eligibility during your free assessment.

What you get

What's included in every battery installation

Consumption-based sizing

We analyse 12 months of your EAC bills and model your evening usage, so the battery is sized to your life — not a one-size box.

Quality lithium systems

LFP and lithium-ion systems rated for 6,000+ cycles, from manufacturers with authorised support in Cyprus.

Hybrid inverter integration

New installs get a hybrid inverter from day one; existing systems are assessed honestly for retrofit or upgrade.

Backup power option

Keep essential circuits — fridge, lights, internet — running through power cuts with automatic switchover.

All paperwork handled

EAC applications, technical drawings, EN 62619 compliance, and any storage subsidy you qualify for — prepared and filed by us.

Smart self-consumption

Smart controllers prioritise solar, then battery, then grid — automatically maximising the value of every kWh you generate.

How it works

From assessment to stored sunshine

01

Free assessment

We review your bills and usage patterns to size the battery precisely — no oversizing, no undersizing.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

More questions? Our team is reachable on WhatsApp, by phone, or through our contact form.

How much does a solar battery cost in Cyprus?

Around €800–1,000 per kWh installed. A typical 10kWh home system totals €8,000–10,000, and a compact 5kWh setup proportionally less. We quote precisely after a free sizing assessment based on your actual EAC bills.

What size battery does my home need?

Most Cyprus homes need 10–14 kWh to cover the evening and night. A 3-bedroom home without a pool typically suits 10kWh; larger properties with pools and multiple ACs need 14–20 kWh. Sizing is driven by your evening consumption, not your total daily usage.

Is there a government subsidy for batteries?

The €1,500 PV grant closed at the end of 2025, and state support is now shifting towards home battery storage, with a national subsidy programme announced for 2026. We confirm the current schemes and your eligibility during the free consultation.

Can I add a battery to my existing solar system?

Usually yes. If you have a hybrid inverter, it's a straightforward addition. On older string inverters we assess whether a retrofit battery or a hybrid inverter upgrade makes more sense — and tell you honestly.

How long do solar batteries last?

Quality lithium batteries are rated for 6,000+ cycles — well over ten years of daily use — and retain around 80% capacity after a decade. Cyprus's stable climate helps; we recommend installing in a garage or shaded utility room.
